Recently I received an email with the title “Important Notice to All Bank's Customer in India” with the content as under:
The content of the attachment (the attachment itself being an HTML file) is as under:
After going through the mail I realized that the link provided in is not of Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Instantly I went to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) website and I navigated to the page http://rbi.org.in/scripts/helpdesk.aspx and sent them a mail the following message:
I have received an email from "Reserve Bank of India update@rbi.org.in" with an HTML file as an attachments which is 100% spam. Please do look forward into this issue. Thanks
To this I received a reply:
Beware! You may have also received such an email. Please do not respond to such mails and even do not download the attachments. Before doing so please confirm from the related sources.
